It seems like every week we have some new career landmark or award or something for Bronco hockey netminder Riley Gill – so let’s get this week started, shall we? On Friday Gill posted a short-lived season-high 41 saves as Western defeated Nebraska-Omaha 2-1.
I say “short-lived”{ because on Saturday he made 46 saves – a career high – as the Broncos again beat the Mavericks 5-0. Oh, and that would put Gill on-top of the all-time Bronco career shutout list at 6.
Someday you’ll get to say you saw this guy play at Lawson – your next chance is this Friday and Saturday when the Broncos host Alaska-Fairbanks for Hockey Cares weekend.
