"Mobile, AL. (Dec. 29)---For the first time since 1990 the Under Armour Senior Bowl will have a representative from Western Michigan University. Free safety Louis Delmas has accepted an invitation to the 60th game on January 24th, bowl officials announced Monday. Kickoff for the Under Armour Senior Bowl is set for 6 pm (CT) and the game will be televised by the NFL Network.
Delmas will close out his collegiate career for the Broncos against Rice in the Texas Bowl on Tuesday. He earned first team All-MAC honors in 2008 after leading the team in tackles (100) and interceptions (4). The North Miami Beach, Florida native also had five games with 10 or more tackles this season and recorded an interception in each of the Broncos’ first three games.
Delmas is just the fifth player from Western Michigan to earn a Senior Bowl invite and first since defensive lineman Joel Smeenge in 1990. He has started 43 games in his career, totaling 300 total tackles and 12 career interceptions.
Tickets for the 2009 Under Armour Senior Bowl are currently available for purchase at the Senior Bowl ticket office (151 Dauphin Street), select Regions Bank locations, online at www.seniorbowl.com or by calling (251) 432-4109."
