The 10-year deal the Red Wings were floating for Henrik Zetterberg didn’t happen – make that a 12-year instead! A dozen years, $73 million dollars will keep the star forward at the Joe until 2021, or until global warming ends all hockey on Earth. Zetterberg will be 41 when this contract runs out. The $6 mil a year salary cap hit is important, because it allows the Wings to also sign Marian Hossa to the long-term deal he’s looking for.
