In Southern California the Red Wings entered their 3rd straight overtime game only to lose their first extra session of the season 5-4 to the Anaheim Ducks. Tied at 4 in the overtime period Francois Beauchemin knocked the puck out of mid-air to give the Ducks the win. Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg provided all of the Red Wings offense scoring 2 goals a piece dropping the Wings to 7-1-1 on the season.
