The old Tiger Stadium will soon become a brand spanking new piece of nice flat property. The Free Press is reporting that Tuesday the Detroit Economic Development Corporation commission voted 7-1 to shorten its name. I mean, to wipe the last remaining vestiges of Tiger Stadium from the face of the Earth, ostensibly because then people will suddenly want to start buying property in Detroit. Good luck with that. Just remember – you don’t cross Ernie Harwell.
