It was tough to stay unflappable watching this 14-10 13 inning game slip away from the Tigers. Detroit led briefly in the top of the 13th but Minnesota’s Joe Crede with two strikes sent a curve ball into the seats to clear the bases.
Tigers try to take one game of the series this afternoon on 590 KZO with air time at 12:50.
The Cubs and Padres barely got in an official game finally having the contest called for rain in the 8th. But it was enough for Chicago to wring out a 6-4 win. The same teams meet again today at 2:20 on 1660 The Fan.
In the NBA Denver sent the Mavericks back to Texas with a 124-110 final and a 4 games to 1 series win and now move on to their first trip to the conference finals in over 20 years.
On the rink Pittsburgh just had all the pieces in place and got about everyone involved in their solid 6-2 clubbing of Washington. It was a bruising 7 game series with that rivalry but the Penguins now have a spot in the conference finals.
Joe Louis Arena will be rockin’ tonight as the defending Stanley Cup champion Red Wings take the ice for Game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals tonight, facing a Ducks team that just won’t quit. Jeremy Bonderman is one step closer to finally suiting up for the Tigers. He’s been on the DL all season after undergoing shoulder surgery and the Detroit Free Press is reporting he will begin his injury-rehab assignment with the West Michigan Whitecaps this weekend. The Whitecaps are home Saturday night taking on the Great Lakes Loons.
It’s on to the MAC Championships in Akron for the Western Michigan track and field team. The Broncos took second place at last year’s meet, took seven event titles and scored a record 153 points. The Broncos start today with the hammer throw, shot put, pole vault and javelin.
