One of the hardest-fought chapters in the Red Wings-Avalanche saga was written at the Joe last night. Colorado coming into this one with a four-game slump, Detroit’s Johann Franzen missing his fifth game with a bum hand. Avs on top early, scoring 16 seconds into the game, a 2-zip lead early in the second. Then 3 goals for Detroit swings it 3-2 the other way. They tied up at 4, then at 5! The shootout goes 5 rounds, then Jordan Leopold sneaks the game winner past Chris Osgood - A 6-5 win for the Avs. The Red Wings host Nashville Wednesday.
