You can almost smell the fresh-cut grass! Spring training right around the corner, the Detroit Tigers made some moves Monday. The Detroit Free Press is reporting the Tigers have signed outfielder Timo Perez of Triple-A Toledo. In 2008 he hit .302 with 30 doubles, two triples, 13 homers and 63 RBIs in 112 games. Additionally, the Tigers today announced they have agreed to terms on 2009 contracts with seven other players: right-handed pitchers Kyle Bloom, Alfredo Figaro, Chris Lambert and Zach Simons, catcher Dusty Ryan, infielder Michael Hollimon and outfielder Casper Wells. With today’s signings, the Tigers have 29 players on the 40-man roster under contract for the season.
