I believe everyone deserves a second chance in life but third, fourth and fifth...and on and on? Where does the slack-cutting line get drawn?
It's disheartening at best to see talented people squander away great careers and it's not unique to athletes. They just seem prone to it.
How many college players and practice squad hopefuls would give their eye teeth to have the talent of Adam "Pac Man" Jones?
Although Jones didn't exactly light up Texas Stadium with his play this year, it was the seemingly endless string of personal immaturity clinics he put on that caused the Cowboys to open the corral door and turn him loose. Constant brushes with the law such as six arrests and 12 incidents that required a squad car as in Jones' case gets old to any team.
Will another NFL team gamble on the "Pac Man"? I might be mildly surprised if one did, but knowing how pro sports works I would scarcely be shocked.
