MSU falls in Capital One bowl

Michigan State’s big New Year’s Day bowl game, mixing it up with the Bulldogs of Georgia in the Capital One Bowl in Orlando. A defensive struggle to start, MSU took a 6-3 lead into halftime. In the 3rd quarter, Georgia got in the end zone first - a 35 yard strike from Bulldog QB Matthew Stafford made it 10-6 Bulldogs. Georgia scored again in the 3rd, then Javon Ringer got MSU back in it in the 4th with a 1 yard touchdown run. Ringer had 47 yards on the ground – QB Brian Hoyer the second-leading Spartan rusher with 3 yards. Then the Bulldogs put this one away with Stafford’s third TD pass on the day. 24-12 is your final, Matt Stafford threw for 250 yards and 3 scores for Georgia - just goes to show the Big Ten cannot hang with the SEC on the gridiron.
