A lot of eyes were on the New York Jets this year with the signing of a somewhat well-known quarterback (something his new head coach was not excited about.) They even looked playoff bound, but a late season collapse cost them a seed and a coach.
But Eric Mangini wasn't unemployed long as the Cleveland Browns have hired him to at least get them to the next level and hopefully far more although the deal is not carved in stone.
Mangini happens to be close friends with Browns just-fired coach Romeo Crennel who has expressed interest in staying with the Browns as an assistant.
The Browns finished the season with a 4 and 12 mark. That's easy to do when your offense doesn't score a touchdown in the last six games.
