The Red Wings and the NHL All-Star game don’t seem to like each other too much. First, no Red Wings in the starting lineup – yes, I know it’s the faux-fans that voted, but still… Now the two guys who were on the roster are looking at a suspension for - missing the game? A suspension? Really? Yeah, Pavel Datsyuk and Niklas Lidstrom are out for tonight’s matchup in Columbus after NHL commissioner Gary Bettmann handed down the one-game penalty. Red Wings GM Ken Holland is appealing the suspension, saying that Datsyuk and Lidstrom are battling injuries – which is true. So, a couple non-starters missing the game due to injury draws a one-game suspension? I wonder what the penalty is for beating some guy’s face in! Oh right, five minutes. Red Wings and Blue Jackets tonight at 7, we’ll join in progress after K-Christian hoops on 1660 The Fan.
