As Western Michigan’s volleyball team prepares for their tournament matchup with defending national champs number-one Penn State Friday, a Bronco on the team is singled out for an honor. Western Michigan junior setter Jillian Mitchell has been named All-Mideast Region Honorable Mention by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Mitchell was the first WMU player ever to earn the MAC Setter of the Year award and was First Team All-MAC and All-MAC Tournament Team after leading the MAC in assists and ranking 13th nationally with 11.48 assists per set. The Broncos and the Nittany Lions square off in University Park, Pennsylvania tomorrow at 6.
