From FREEP.COM:
Amid one of the worst seasons in NFL history and an ailing economy, the Lions will freeze ticket prices for next season.
They will cut prices for 8% of general seating and make “significant price reductions” for club seats. Officials are still determining the amount of the cuts and which seats will receive them, and details will be announced at a later date.
“I think it’s safe to assume that we will not increase any prices, whether it’s a season ticket or an individual ticket,” said Bob Raymond, Ford Field’s vice president of business operations. “We’re just not in position to do that with, one, the economy, and two, the way the team has performed.”
The Lions raised prices for most tickets this season, and they have struggled badly on the field and at the box office.
They have the NFL’s first 0-15 record and will post the league’s first 0-16 season if they lose Sunday at Green Bay. They have lost 17 straight road games to the Packers, including one in the playoffs.
After selling out their first 50 games at Ford Field, which opened in 2002, they failed to sell out five of their last six home games and were blacked out on local television.
