Lions Fall. Report: Mayhew to Stay, Lewand as Well

by Dan Cash

Drew Brees torched the Lions defense for 351 yards on 30-of-40 passing as the Saints pounded the Lions 42-7 Sunday afternoon at Ford Field. The loss dropped the Lions to 0-15 on the season, the 1st team in NFL history to do so. Lions Quarterback Dan Orlovsky says this loss was terrible.

Orlovsky finished the game with 125 yards on 10-of-23 passing along with 2 interceptions. The only bright spot on the afternoon was Running Back Kevin Smith who finished with 111 yards rushing on the afternoon. That didn't satisfy Smith after the game.

Smith has been one of the only bright spots all season long for the worst NFL team to date. After the game Lions Owner William Clay Ford reportedly said he expects Interim General Manager Martin Mayhew and Chief Operating Officer Tom Lewand to return next season Tom Kowalski of Booth Newspapers reported.

Oh and get this...also according to the report...Ford Sr. still hasn't made up his mind on keeping Rod Marinelli has Head Coach. Marinelli has lost 22 of his last 23 games as Head Coach of the Detroit Lions.
