AUDIO: Rice Owls Head Coach David Bailiff Speaks With Dan Cash

by Dan Cash

The Rice Owls enter the Texas Bowl December 30th with 9 wins under their belt and a former Western Michigan Defensive Coordinator. Bailiff's Defensive Coordinator is Chuck Dreesbach, who spent 4 seasons as Defensive Coordinator under Gary Darnell at Western MIchigan. Owls Head Coach David Bailiff says he knows all about the MAC.

Drees-Bach worked opposite of current WMU Head Coach Bill Cubit during the late 90's when Cubit was the Offensive Coordinator for the Broncos. Bailiff says Conference USA and the Mid-American Conference are very comparable in terms of talent and prestige.

The Owls will be in their hometown of Houston for the Texas Bowl. Bailiff says they aren't approaching the game as if it's a home game...they will be heading to a hotel in Houston, preparing as though the game was in Kalamazoo. The Broncos and Owls kickoff December 30th at 8PM.
