AFL- R.I.P.

Like the Titanic slipping into the icy blue waters of the Atlantic, the Arena Football League has been swallowed whole by the chilly economic climate. The AFL includes among its teams the Grand Rapids Rampage. On a Monday conference call the AFL owners – owners that include rocker Jon Bon Jovi and hall-of-fame Q-B John Elway - decided to suspend the 2009 season despite recent statements to the contrary. The owners say the decision will allow them to reevaluate the business model of the 22-year old league. The NBA, NASCAR and Major League Baseball have all recently cut jobs and the NFL has said it will do the same.
