Backup Goaltender Ty Conklin was sensational in a 4-0 win over the Edmonton Oilers Monday. It was the 5th shutout of Conklin's career and 1st since coming over to the Red Wings at the beginning of the season. Offensively it was Mikael Samuelsson, Jiri Hudler, Niklas Kronwall and Johan Franzen scoring for the Red Wings on the night.
The win pushed the Wings lead in the Central Division to 8 points. Up next the Red Wings finish the 2nd half of a home and home with the Oilers Thursday in Alberta. Coverage begins at 8:40 on 1660 THE FAN.
