Allen Park, MI (Sports Network) - The Detroit Lions could have a new quarterback under center for Sunday's home game against Jacksonville. Whether or not that's Daunte Culpepper remains to be seen, but with Dan Orlovsky suffering from a sprained thumb the winless Lions may need a fresh signal-caller.
Orlovsky went 28-for-47 with 292 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in this past Sunday's 27-23 loss at Chicago.
The Lions have struggled at the quarterback position this season, as Orlovsky has taken over for injured starter Jon Kitna, who was lost for the season. Orlovsky has five touchdown passes and four interceptions.
If Orlovsky can't start Sunday, second-round pick Drew Stanton could get the start versus the Jaguars. Stanton has yet to throw a pass in an NFL regular season game.
FOX SPORTS says Orlovsky is out for 4 games.
