It was a clash of 1st place Original 6 teams Wednesday night in Montreal with the Canadians coming out on top 3-1 over the Red Wings. Johan Franzen scored the lone goal for the Red Wings while Tomas Plekanec scored the game winner for Montreal on the power-play in the 2nd period. Red Wings Captain Nick Lidstrom says the Canadians system was threw them off.
