Aldridge Leads Portland Over Pistons

by Dan Cash

LaMarcus Aldridge was solid down the stretch as the Portland Trailblazers dominated the Pistons 96-85 Sunday evening in Auburn Hills. Aldridge finished the game with 27points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Aldridge hit several key shots down the stretch after the Pistons had tied the game with fewer than 8 to play in the 4th quarter. Head Coach Michael Curry says this loss is on the starters.

Curry’s comments are part of a recent trend that he’s used to motivate his currently underachieving Pistons team. It was another rough night for Allen Iverson finishing only 2-for-9 from the field for 9 points. He says it was a rough loss at home.

The loss drops the Pistons to 10-6 on the season good for 3 ½ games behind the 1st place Cleveland Cavaliers. Up next the Pistons head to San Antonio for a showdown with the Spurs Tuesday night. Tip-off is set for 8:30PM.
