In the Big Ten Michigan State begins the 2008 season 7th in the country ranked by the ESPN/USA Today Poll. The Spartans enter the 2008-2009 season with high hopes having finished 27-9 last season.
It is however a new era as the Spartans will be without Drew Neitzel who is currently a member of the Artland Dragons in Germany.
The Spartans begin the season with an exhibition game November 5th against Northern Michigan at the Breslin Center.
