Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - The Detroit Pistons have reportedly signed forward Jason Maxiell to a four-year contract extension through the 2012 season on Thursday.
According to the Detroit Free Press, Maxiell, who was going to become a restricted free agent next summer, agreed to a four-year, $20 million deal.
The 26th overall pick out of Cincinnati in 2005, Maxiell, in his fourth season in the NBA, has averaged 6.0 points and 3.7 rebounds per game in 176 contests. He set career-highs with 7.9 points and 5.3 rebounds in 82 games last season.
