In pre-season NHL action the Detroit Red Wings beat the Atlanta Thrashers 4-1 a night after falling in a shootout to the Montreal Canadians.
Mikael Samuelsson scored 2 goals and recorded an assist while Henrik Zetterberg added a goal of his own. Chris Osgood was stellar in net allowing only 1 goal on 26 shots.
Next up the Wings welcome the Toronto Maple Leafs into the Joe on Friday at 7:30.
