7 Straight For The Red Wings

by Dan Cash

LOS ANGELES -- It appeared the Red Wings were destined to drop their 2nd game of the season Monday when they trailed the Los Angeles Kings 3-2 on the road with less than 2 minutes to play.

That is before the Red Wings showed their championship swagger when Valtteri Filppula fired home the Wings 3rd goal of the game with 1:54 remaining in the 3rd period. After a scoreless overtime period…Henrik Zetterberg fired home the shootout winner.

Zetterberg also scored the Red Wings 1st goal of the game to go along with Marian Hossa and Valtteri Filppula’s goals. The win is the 7th straight for the Red Wings after falling in game 1 to to the Toronto Maple Leafs. The 7-1 Wings now take tonight off before head to Anaheim to take on the Ducks. Coverage begins at 9:40 Wednesday on 1660 THE FAN.
