The Tampa Bay Rays scored 4 runs in the 8th and another run in the 11th on a Ben Zobrist homerun to spoil the Tigers home finale Sunday.
The loss was a microcosm of a Tigers season that’s left much to be desired. Zach Minor fired 6 strong innings allowing only 3 runs on 4 hits before Chris Lambert gave up the game winning homerun in the top of the 11th.
The Tigers now head to Chicago for a makeup game with the White Sox tonight. If the White Sox win…they force a one-game-playoff with the Twins Tuesday.
