In Texas the struggles continued for the Detroit Tigers as the Rangers used 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th to steal a 5-4 win Tuesday. Everything looked just peachy in the top of the 7th when Rookie Catcher Dusty Ryan drove in the Tigers 4th run.
From there the Tigers closer slot was exposed as Fernando Rodney allowed 3 runs without recording an out in the bottom of the 9th. Marlon Byrd tripled to tie the game at 4 before Chris Davis singled in the winning run for the Rangers.
The loss spoiled a gem from Zach Minor…who fired 7-and-1/3 innings allowing only 2 runs before accepting the no-decision.
Up next the Tigers finish their series with the Rangers with coverage beginning at 7:45 on 590 KZO.
