A comprehensive evaluation.
Lions sole owner William Clay Ford Sr. is promising at the end of the 2008 football season. Ford Sr. fired much-maligned President and General Manager Matt Millen Tuesday opting to wait until the end of the season to replace Millen full time.
In the meantime former coaches and current players spoke out about the firing Wednesday evening.
Former Coach Steve Mariucci said he is one of 58 coaches let go during Matt Millen’s tenure before expanding his comments to include a shot at Millen’s inexperience…saying Millen didn’t have a single leadership job at any football level…before taking the Lions CEO position.
Millen was a player and broadcaster before being hired to run the Detroit Lions billion-dollar-football-franchise.
