Lions Fall 31-13 To Martz, 49ers

by Dan Cash

Former Detroit Lions Offensive Coordinator Mike Martz and former backup Quarterback J.T. O’Sullivan tore the Lions defense apart en route to a 31-13 San Francisco victory Sunday.

There would be no Lions comeback after a 21 point 1st half by the 49ers. Lions Quarterback Jon Kitna was ineffective again, completing only 15-of-30 passes for 146 yards a touchdown and an interception. He says everyone on the offense is to blame.

The Lions defense was equally ineffective giving up nearly 400 yards of total offense to a 49ers team led by a Quarterback starting only his 3rd NFL game.

The loss drops the Lions to 0-3 on the season. Up next the Lions have a bye week before the Chicago Bears come to Ford Field a week from Sunday…Coverage begins at Noon on 590 KZO.
