Garcia Wins Tigers Debut Behind Big Offense

by Dan Cash

The Tigers were an offensive juggernaut in a 17-4 pounding of the Texas Rangers Wednesday night. Miguel Cabrera hit his 34th homerun of the season to make it 16-1 and the pounding continued from there.

Freddy Garcia fired 5 strong innings in his Tigers debut, allowing only 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 3. Cabrera was 4-for-5 to go along with his homerun.

Tonight the Tigers are off before heading to Cleveland with coverage beginning at 6:45 on 590 KZO Friday.
